I wish I could understand how the impulse to behave this way is not immediately curtailed by the embarrassment of it. Was there a timeline in this man’s head where he could throw his tea at the flag, tear it off the wall, and then just go about his day?
Imagine going to work - in a funeral parlour of all places - and having your colleagues know that decor in a private establishment was enough to make you blow a gasket. What if a grieving client puts a pride next to their loved one during a service? I’d be so embarrassed I would resign and move to a different state.
The sad truth is that many Republicans simply don’t feel shame. I don’t know if it’s some developmental issue from their upbringing or just an inability to connect their actions to future consequences, but once you realize they are deficient it explains so many of their crashouts.
