It’s really good, would love an open source option, but Sync is so much better right now than any other app

I would have to disagree about the “better than any other app” statement. I believe ads and/or subscriptions sort of follows the path reddit is currently taking. It’s not a bad thing, but I got off of reddit for some of these reasons and “paying” for a lackluster app that used to be about community and it’s members. Being FREE, “Connect for Lemmy” is awesome and consistently being updated. There’s lots of customization and extras being added all the time.

Added above plus edit: It should go without saying that it’s personal preference, and up to you to do your own testing. Maybe I should’ve said nothing. lol ;)

Someone on another thread suggested doing a “hunger games” with all of the Lemmy apps and narrow them down to the one that suits you best. 👍

Maybe I didn’t word that correctly as it’s not objectively better, although subjectively it definitely is for me. “More polished than any other app” would’ve been more appropriate, Sync really feels finished (although it’s also just what I’ve used for years and am really accustomed to)

I personally don’t care about it being open source but the privacy issues. I just want that fixed before i move onto it (or any mobile app)

Same. Give us an APK without the AdMob code bundled in
