If you want to be able to precisely control the heat you won’t do any better than the MSR DragonFly® Multi-Liquid Fuel Backpacking Stove. I’ve gotten over a decade of use out of MSR tents and stoves (including maintenance kits) across America from Pacific to Atlantic and from the outback up into FNQ Queensland down to Tasmanian.
Sure in a pinch a Coleman multi fuel stove will do. But it’ll always cook hot in extreme heat… So you won’t be able to turn it down low enough to do some things you think you should. That’s not an issue with the dragonfly which is much more adjustable, and as I said has replacement parts to maintain.
