I’m starting with Convoy. Late 90s/early 2000s band from San Diego. Some of the members formed Louis XIV after but to me, this is a near perfect pop record. I’ve no idea why this isn’t part of the mainstream pop zeitgeist.

Different genre than what others here have said, but Death is a band who, in my eyes, should be just as big as other legendary metal bands like Metallica, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Megadeth etc.
One of the first death metal bands, one of the first to explore technical/prog death metal too. They also have almost a perfect discography, barely even having a bad song.
I genuinely don’t know why they aren’t more widely loved, maybe it’s because death metal is a somewhat niche genre.
Hmmmm, yes.

Somehow, I’ve never heard of them, even though in that era, my best friend was a metal head, turning me on to bands like Venom, Armored Saint and Voivod. Never been my thing, but yeah, I hope these guys get their recognition now within the metal world.
