The baby birds I saw last year were more like little puffballs. Could it be a brown-headed cowbird (link to photo) https://sites.tufts.edu/babybirds/files/2019/06/fullsizeoutput_3c0a.jpeg?
I might be wrong but that looks like a house finch to me.
I was thinking last night that it the baby bird looks quite a bit different than mama bird (see uploaded photo). The baby birds I saw last year were more like little puffballs.
