Look, I generally think Mitt is a good guy. I also believe he sees nothing wrong with what he did as a corporate raider, and I specifically remember him being caught on hidden camera throwing poor (and some middle class) citizens under the bus at a fundraiser with rich folks, falsely suggesting that they were freeloaders who pay no taxes. When it comes to his economics, the guy is a regular Atilla the Hun.
This reminds me of a previous, successful attempt to reduce taxes for the rich (aren’t they always successful anymore?), watching Ben Stein making the usual public plea for the sad, oppressed wealthy people on a Sunday morning talk show, only to have him 180 his argument shortly after the reduction passed.
Give me action, or I’m not buying it. Carnegie gave my community, and many others, libraries, at least. I want to see real community improvements in numerous places. My preference is in environment and climate improvements, but if you’re super wealthy and want me to think you’re great after your gone and buried, contributing billions to your own personal charity ain’t gonna cut it (typical strategy of many uber wealthy individuals). Admitting the bed made of Benjamin Franklins that you sleep on every night maybe shouldn’t have been allowed to be quite so tall, after you’re advanced in years and politically irrelevant, doesn’t change much.
