Shot at 55mm, f/10, 1/160th, ISO 100.

Last summer, I went over to Lighthouse Park with the intent of getting some shots of the ferry underway. I decided to include the pier, as it and the fishermen add a bit more life to the shot.

I think this is a great shot. I love the rough choppy seas. All the different beautiful shades of blue and the peaks and valleys all over the water just really capture that windy atmosphere at the coast. I really enjoy the mountains or hills back there in the background as well. I think all the shades of blue really tie the photo together.

However, I agree with @yenahmik the frame is a bit crowded by the two subjects being a bit close together. I know you said in another comment that if you were to retake the photo you’d put the pier down lower in the frame. I think that’s a great idea to separate the two subjects. If it were me I’d get less of the pier in the shot or take the shot on a less busy day. If the main subject is intended to be the ferry, then I think the poles and people or maybe just the amount of poles and people distract me from the ferry.

Anyways great job with the shot! And I think you’re on the right track according to your own critique :)
