Marxists ≠ ML, MLs are a subcategory of Marxists. I pointed this out in the last comment too. Try replacing Marxist with Rectangle and ML with Square. I know of no Communists that aren’t Marxists and even prompted you for an example of one, which you’ve ignored.
I know exactly what you think you’re trying to say. What matters is context, and as a lgbt person myself there is clearly no negative connotations here when it’s directly referencing a poem and when it’s a common saying in general among members of our group.
