I ride exclusively in boxers and regular street clothes, no problem. I usually ride on Brooks or Selle Royale saddles though depending on which bike and setup I’m using.
So, somewhere between a razor blade and an ironing board with springs.
Interesting data point. I confess that I’m a bit skeptical when hardened (pun intended) cyclists talk of how comfortable their various saddles are. In my experience it’s the first few days that matter, after that you’ll basically be numbed to anything. Which is why I was surprised not get any problems - literally the first time ever - from the epically squidgy throne-like saddle on my cheapie new Chinese e-bike last year. Only one explanation: the double (front and rear) suspension. Would not have guessed but it really makes all the difference.
Yep. Lycra is overrated! I cycled 2500 km last year in shorts 'n boxers. Admittedly with double suspension.
Very interesting and useful feedback, thanks.

Not how I’d describe any of my saddles but ok.
