My post here was removed for lacking context; I am confused on what context is lacking.

I also find it very odd that the sole moderator of this community is a man. This is not to say that man can’t speak on feminist issues - I identify as a man of course, but I would think that such a community would have at least one female moderator.

For as much context as I can give:

Heather Hays is a porn star with learning disabilities. She has made multiple concerning posts about being coerced to take things down from her Twitter, and I am not sure that she is able to consent to what she is doing.

Reddit is filled with hundreds of horrifying comments calling her the r-slur. Really, Reddit has hundreds of horrifying comments about all kinds of porn stars, but the theme with her in particular is that aspect.

I posted about Heather Hays on unpopular opinion, and it was removed with barely any explanation. Someone suggested that I mark it as “NSFW” - when I reposted it and marked it as NSFW, it was again taken down and I was banned.

I think it would be reasonable to ask instances like Lemmy NSFW to ban her content. I think there needs to be a lot more consideration about what kind of industry one is funding when one views content on Pornhub or the other large porn sites - MindGeek has a monopoly on essentially all the major ones, and MindGeek has made money knowingly on CSAM.

Do you disagree with characterizing someone as “disgusting” for watching the rape of another human being?
