Xbox has been having a hard time selling consoles lately, and it didn't get any better over the 2025 holiday quarter. The company has just reported hardware sales were down 32% year-over-year, after quarter upon quarter upon quarter of hardware declines.
With no successor, no backwards compatibility for next gen. Why would any new gamer opt for it!
I was going to get one second hand to dick around with until this. I’ll stick to PC and steam link.
I feel like I’m out of the loop.
Have they made a hard announcement that they will not have another home console generation or is that just inferred from their public strategy?
Not yet, there are plans for a more expensive console/PC hybrid that Xbox division has hinted at being a thing soon; Not that anyone would probably buy it given the Steam Machine is on the horizon this year. Since Microslop has a proven track record of failure post that one time they peaked, I wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually give up on console sales. They always piss on their success and never learn anything from their flops.
