If you want to bring down medical costs pay them directly through the government and ban insurance companies. Drug company: “We’re going to raise the price of drug A.” Proper response: “If you raise the price of your drug we’ll ignore your patent and sell it for half the cost so you lose sales” Medical costs would fall and we’d have a healthier society
