This was given to me by a friend today, who had visited a recent Mardi Gras parade. His girlfriend found it while randomly scavenging around.
It originally had a red rubber band on it, but that ended up cut and lost, hence the regular rubber band to keep it closed. Thankfully it was never used though.
People bow hunt deer in Mississippi, so it’s not really out of place, other than someone dropped it.

Probably sitting in their truck swapping out broad heads for target tips, which would be how it got stuck in a pocket and dropped.
You don’t just put this thing in your pocket, it’ll shred your clothes.
They also get caught in in your clothing without notice fairly easily when you’re juggling a couple boxes of tips.
That could be how it fell from a pocket
