Basically, my policy is “remove the source of harm, while not giving into the justifiable rage that those sources of harm would be proud of”.
You give them a day in court where you air all of their dirty laundry, and then you lock them away for the rest of their life. Treat them exactly the same as any other prisoner. Maybe subject them to experimental psychologists and mandatory group therapy. Get some use out of them while trying vainly to make them understand that they are not in fact the smartest people in the room, and are actually monsters.
And if they ever miraculously come to that realization, you leave them locked up because they are monsters who cannot be trusted.
