I am neutral on him, I don’t think he is anywhere as bad as the memes make it out to be, hell I don’t even think he as bad as some of the pre-season games made him look, it’s just clear that the pressure got to him, can’t blame him tbh, some cunts called in a bomb-threat on his family after all.

That being said I think he will be kind of a presentation material for PR training of future footballers, the way he reacted to some of the criticism was just the worst thing he could have done, the putting your hands on your ears while celebrating a goal against some semi-pro footballers at the International level. Him saying he knows he is good enough otherwise he wouldn’t be starting only for him to get benched the next game. (The sevilla goal was just pure rotten luck). It all just fed into the meme/hate train on Maguire.

Obviously none of that justified the amount of hate he got, but It’s easier to train someone in PR than to change humanity. And the cunt that called in the bomb-threat belongs to jail, obviously.

Ultimately though, Maguire’s biggest issue was out of his control, his transfer fee, not that it it’s outrageous to the extent that no defender should cost that much, it’s that he shouldn’t have cost that much, since he is just not a world-class player like VVD was or what Gvardiol looks to be.

I will still remember the time when we were shitting our pants, because he got injured against Villa, and would miss the EL final against Villareal.
