I’ve always had problems with earrings with backs on them, Regardless of metal.
If you find you end up with the same issue (it’s common) I have a solution.
I buy 16 gauge bar bell earrings. Like the kind for nip piercings. The ones for belly button also work but those usually are 14 gauge (thicker). They come with a ball on each side and you can get them where one side is a rhinestone.
That’s what I wear.
They stay in. They don’t get caught in my hair like hoops. But they are loose enough that the back isn’t right up to the skin so it doesn’t cause me any problems.
Just thought I’d share that tip.
It literally took me about 15 years to figure out how to wear “stud-like” earrings. I always had to keep hoops in them before.
