After dealing w/ many Chinese suppliers in various industries I believe the blame falls on the OEM. If you ask for cheap garbage then you’ll get that. If you ask for tightly specified designs that are properly designed for the process at a reasonable price then you’ll get that.
Where are Samsung phones designed and made? The answer might surprise you
If you asked someone to guess where Samsung phones are made, most people would probably say China. After all, the country is the global manufacturing hub, producing the bulk of smartphone OEMs and iPhones for Apple.
It may surprise you that not a single Samsung phone is made in China. The company closed its last factory in the People’s Republic in 2019 due to a shrinking market share. Nowadays, most Samsung phones are made in Vietnam. But they do have a few other vital factories around the globe. Let’s take a look at them all.
EDIT: That being said, it sounds like there are also affected Samsung phones, so…
Even that isn’t the whole truth, Samsung assembles their phones in India at the moment (At least for the Galaxy S series). But the electronics themselves probably come from China or Taiwan anyway, so does that really make a difference?
The guy I replied to acted like other phone manufacturers do it in the good ol’ US of A.
China isn’t particularly well known for its quality products, especially over longer periods of time.

Where do you think iPhones, Samsung phones and so on are produced? Lol.
I thought Samsungs were made in Korea?
Nah, the main factory (for example for the Galaxy S23) is in India. But does that really matter when dozens of parts are from China or Taiwan?
googles, curious
It sounds like that is not true for Samsung, at least.
