What the Bones do is indicative of US military plans as they represent near ideal standoff cruise missile workhorses that can launch a massive volley at once if needed.

Note these aircraft are nearly always photographed flying high and level like lumbering giants, which they are not. These can be flown surprisingly close to the terrain especially relative to the vast distance the aircraft can cover.
