DOOM: The Dark Ages is the prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal that tells an epic cinematic story worthy of the DOOM Slayer’s legend. Players will step into the blood-stained boots of the DOOM Slayer, in this never-before-seen dark and sinister medieval war against Hell.
I’m given to understand theres a signifacant amount of platforming in this Doom, and that thought seemed so strange and out of place to me. Please note: I gave up near the end of Doom 2016 out of boredom and annoyance, never played eternal or Dark Ages. Don’t take my bitterness for the series as a review; this no longer my preferred style of FPS. Doom (2016, E, or even DA) could be free, and I still likely will not play.
EDIT: I reread your question and my response… sorry friend I don’t think I answered you. I’ll keep my reply for now anyway. Anyone who enjoys the modern Doom games deserve all the fun it offers, which they do, but everyone has a type, and sadly they arent for me.
Eternal was dramatically better than 2016. Much more active gameplay. I got bored of 2016 pretty quickly but eternal reminded me of Quake 3 and I played through to the end.
That’s actually quite encouraging to hear, thank you. I hadn’t even considered Eternal whatsoever due to my experience with 2016. Q3A was/is one of my all time favorite games. I should still have the grey big box PC CD release somewhere in storage.
Is this one less of a jump puzzle than the previous version? Is it worth it for 1/3 price?
