I don’t think she is trying to rehabilitate her image. I think she was a MAGA and Qanon true believer, and she’s genuinely only just now figured out that they were lying criminals. She’s still 100% on-board with the hateful, bigoted, totalitarian christofascism; she just no longer trusts Trump’s faction to lead it.
I do think she’s hoping for some comeback in the midterms
The trouble I have with the argument that she’s planning a “comeback” is that she only needs such a thing because she resigned in protest in the first place. She could have just… not done that, continued to criticize the regime (or hell, switched parties if @[email protected] 's argument about her being “to the left of most of the democratic fucking party” is to be believed), and been in a better position. Yet that’s not what she did.
I have no idea what her plan is, and to be honest, I think that’s because the most likely explanation is that she’s simply a genuine idiot and doesn’t have one.
