Maybe you’re not really paying attention to the radio but when you listen to music you do and it is fatiguing after a while.

It’s also how I listen to music. I pick a playlist or album and I gloss over everything that I don’t like. As soon as something I like goes on it turns on my attention. I study piano, compose, etc so I also try to make sense of what in hearing. Attention is fatiguing.
