A Marine at California’s Camp Pendleton has been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl who was found in a base barracks, the military announced Friday.

Because you have no idea what goes on on one. This is a silly idea that suggests you literally have no idea whatsoever what you’re talking about. If you want to aim your wrath at congress and the people in charge for getting into conflict after conflict, and the military spending budget as a whole, fine. But that’s not what you’re saying. What you’re saying is military members shouldn’t be allowed to have any type of normal life because they volunteered for military service and bases = bad to you.

Are you also saying we should get rid of Starbucks, Amazon warehouses, and prisons?

Being paid to kill people is not heroic, it’s greedy and fucked up. We spend too much on the military. Time to put that money to better use.

That’s not what most people in the military do. Stop listening to military cosplayers.

The military industrial complex steals our tax money so the rich can fight over oil and whatever other bullshit. Leaving American towns without infrastructure, jobs, health care and education so the poor and stupid have no other options. They then get paid to attack people they do not know or even have a reason to fucking attack. We are not defending ourselves from shit. Fuck the military, fuck the dumb pandering to the meat heads. Fuck people that join, train to hurt people, and come out nut jobs that, you guessed it, hurt people. Its a giant pile of shit.

Stop conflating people who join the military with non-military leaders who control and make profit off the military industrial complex. They aren’t the same. And assuming that everyone involved is just out here killing random people, or even that that was their reason for joining is sick. You are not in a place to know what we’re defending ourselves from. You literally have no idea what’s going on on the world stage, you just assume that because some news outlet told you so that it’s a complete waste of money over things we shouldn’t be involved in. Do you know how often military members engage in humanitarian aid? How many natural disasters we’ve worked to mitigate or how many peoples and countries we’ve helped in the aftermath? Nothing about this situation is black and white but you continue to blame the wrong people and are all for treating them badly when you speak from a place of ignorance.

I have plenty of idea what’s going on the world stage. I get into some geopolitics. What are we going to be the world police on the back of the working class in America? Sacrificing healthcare, education and all the other nice shiny things we dont have because it’s all spent on war. Why can other countries just have a defensive army? Maybe you should look up how much we spend on our military compared to the rest of the world. Point is, you guys join to get the free education, the travel, the rush, the money, to fight, whatever selfish reason. In the end you are joining to help yourself with some delusions about it actually helping this country. What would help is if y’all stop joining and got a real job like the rest of us. The military industrial complex is out of control and has been since WW2. You’re just another brain washed soldier feeding the war machine. Totally fine dropping bombs on people you don’t know. If you want some humanitarian aid, take the money from the war machine and put it in better places.

And that isn’t the military members fault. You’re blaming mostly poor people who are part of a system they have no control over who join the military because it’s a way out of poverty. That’s been my whole. Point from the start. You’re making a lot of blanket statements that boil down to “the military and everyone involved with it is a problem and kills people so military= bad”. And you’re wrong. The military is an example of the systemic problems with late stage capitalism. I notice you’re not on the fuck billionaires train, the fuck Congress train, or the fuck capitalism train with this rant. But all those things are connected to the problems with the military budget and spending. You’re obviously speaking from a place of ignorance and I’m not even sure why you’re bothering to just rehash what you’ve already said to me who knows better.

When I joined the military as an E1 I was making something like $600 every two weeks. And I was on call 24 hours a day. That equates to about $1.78 per hour. There are people in the military making less than minimum wage when you account for the fact that they’re on call 24 hours a day. Free food, housing and healthcare are just ways to further curtail their movements and keep what are essentially 18yo kids with no real life experience from bucking the system. And you’re just out here claiming these same kids are killers who don’t deserve human rights.

I believe the first thing I said was “the rich fighting the rich over oil and other bullshit”. If you joined the military, and support it. You are certainly part of the problem. Even now, you defend it.
