This plant appears to have popped up literally overnight (disclaimer: not actually literally). Last week it wasn’t there, now it is and flourishing.

It has whimsical little pinatas / paper lanterns hanging off it, and inside is something that looks like a pea. It smacks of a Redwood novel a little bit - like the mice would be hosting a feast that featured “lantern berries” or something. And honeycakes.

I am assuming it is a weed and probably poisonous to dogs so currently my plan tomorrow is to destroy it, unless I hear otherwise.

It’s old school tech now, just the version that bounces around the yard with the hope it will eventually cover everywhere. If you’re looking at getting one make sure you get an RTK version instead.

Somewhat heavy, I guess? You normally only need to pick it up when it gets stuck, or to flip it over to change the blades.

Being 2wd it does get stuck a bit. And the blades need changing every month in summer, less frequently in winter.

If you happen to be in Brisbane, I’ll literally give it to you if you can make use of it?

It was working fine right up until the wire broke (again) so theoretically if you ran a wire around your yard it should just plug in and work.

I’ve probably even got enough new boundary wire laying around to do a normal suburban backyard.

          No warranty though 👀
