Week 1 Preseason action kicks off tonight. I’ve started a game thread for the week and will be updating while I watch. I hope that you’ll join in and let your friends know to join us on Lemmy for the discussion as well.

In the meantime, here is my preview for this week’s slate of games. CJ Stroud and John Metchie will make their NFL debuts for the Texans tonight vs the Patriots. Stroud with the start while Metchie is technically on his sophomore season, he was inactive all last season.

For tonights night cap, two first round rookies will take the field for the vikings and Seahawks.

Friday games might give us a chance to see Jamhyr Gibbs in action for the Lions. Baker Mayfield will start for the Bucs but they are going to give Trask the start next week. We will see who emerges and if they can be effective with that strong WR core. The Commanders are expect to play their starters vs Browns.

Saturday the Colts will see how Richardson does vs the Bills and whether he will start the season as QB1. Rochson Johnson will be a player to watch as the Bears play the Titans. He has a skill set that neither starter Khalil Herbert or RB2 D’Onta Foreman have so he could be primed for a big role this season. Especially if fields and the bears O break out this year. Bryce Young will start for the Panthers vs Jets. Will it be Aaron Rodgers or Zach Wilson again on the other side?

Sunday we might get some clarity on what the chiefs WR room will look like with the departure of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hartman. Toney and MVS are not likely to play but the battle for WR3 will be on for Rice, Moore, and Ross.
