Unreal engine has always been a bloated mess. Unity is a bloated mess of deprecated features and outdated documentation but atleast it’s still faster and arguably still a better fit for the average indie game

Except Unity just doesn’t work. That’s my main problem with it, it has never run well on any computer I have owned in 15 years.

On top of that the Unity corporate are scum and always have been, hounding indie developers and attempting to charge new fees retroactively.

I have personally worked with both and that game engine never seemed like it was a good choice. Even on mid-end laptops, aside from rebuilding lighting, the Unreal editor was pretty fast to work with.

Unity corporate is indeed terrible. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to get invested in Unity over Godot these days if they’re new to game development.

Weird that you’re having issues with it though, always worked well on the computers I’ve owned (both the editor and games using it)
