We’ve seen a parkour on our way to town, so bought a discs set, stopped and played on the way home. Honestly, it’s 50/50 if it’s real dull or not. But, I’m keeping the disks!
(Though I’m not gonna become like the guy behind us. He carried a suitcase full of them, vertically stacked in foam slots. While each time the process of picking a disc looked like open heart surgery, and picking the right one was a matter of life or death with zero margin)

Nice. I picked it up last year as a way to get outside, get some exercise and some low-cost entertainment since there are a bunch of courses around where I live and I don’t have to pay every time I want to play. Over that time I’ve gone from awful to mediocre, which I’m pleased with lol. But it gets me moving and away from a screen for a few hours, so I’ll call it a win.
Sounds like my experience playing ball golf.
It’s fucking hard, I totally suck, still love playing. But I play disc 10x as much because it’s easier to arrange (just go), faster, and waaay cheaper.
There are so many intricacies to the form, and it’s complicated further by the fact that you need to adjust your motion to fit your own body’s range of mobility. But it’s great and absolutely one of the best hobbies I’ve decided to pick up in the last few years. I tell everyone disc golf is super cheap as long as you don’t like it lol. I’ve gone from three discs in an old backpack to a dedicated bag so full I’ve had to start culling discs I don’t actually intend to use in a round.
