Three months into the war in Iran, the largest disruption to New Zealand's oil supply in living memory appears to have done nothing to change the government's approach to transport.
They’re not even putting existing roads first for safety and active modes improvements. Instead, they want to build more “roads of national significance” or basically big expensive motorways. Better rural connections are needed but there are bigger priorities for the economy that would actually support and encourage growth.
