I feel like government roles need to just go to random citizens each year, similar to jury duty.

Sure we will end up with some idiots in important roles but that wouldn’t be new and at least we will also get decent people who actually would give a fuck.

I am sure there would be numerous issues but I bet it would be better than how things go now.
