It’s the same reason women support the patriarchy. Better to be second place than anything else.

Plenty of women benefit from the patriarchy. They don’t care how it affects other women, just how it affects them individually.

And they’ll never think they’ll be the ones cast away at first glance when it comes for her. It’ll never happen to them.

I think it’s also the tribal part of our brains that make it feel good to be on the winning side, even if you aren’t contributing to the victory.
