Their mindset delivered Donald Trump to us. And they’re real assholes about it. And I’m not sure if you’ve been awake for the last decade, but it is beyond time to squash any mindset that results in Donald Trump.
When I interact with MOST .ml users I get a very similar vibe to interacting with Trump supporters. And I have exactly zero tolerance left for that shitfuckery. I don’t care if everyone is entitled to an opinion. They’re not entitled to me being nice to them for the opinion they hold, especially after the way they treat others.
so why add fuel to any nazi/tankie fire by generalizing a group?
Because enough of that group has become problematic. To the point that users across all other instances are pointing it out.
just cut that shit out at the pass and move on if it bothers you.
That mindset doesn’t solve problems. Look, you may not be gullible, but others are. New, young users join Lemmy every day. If they don’t see pushback to .ml user’s shitty behavior and even shittier opinions, then they may very well adopt that behavior and those opinions. If I can take 7 seconds to type out a comment in opposition to their bullshit so that young impressionable minds can see an opposing stance instead of just adopting tankie standards…then I’m going to do that.
The general mistake you’re making is assuming all opinions are ok and valuable. They are not.
Not all opinions are ok.
