Calling for doxing is similar to calling for the most serious fix for ban evasion. Both link real life identities to accounts.

As the internet increases in its centrality to political and social discourse, and as rampant manipulation of it by tools like automation and algorithms and LLMs grows ever more common, we will see louder and louder calls for the bringing in of the accountability people have in the real world in their local communities.

I’m pretty sure many in power or who are seeking power understand this trend, and look to use it to usher in more power for themselves. This sucks. And it has an unfortunate side effect of drowning out legitimate discourse on the problems that anonymity and ban evasion are causing in our primary communication medium.

The internet isn’t another place. It’s not divorced from reality. It’s just a communication medium for humans in the real world.

      Yeah.

That about sums it up. It is a communication tool that for some reason (corporations and power) been denied that and turned into a media machine instead and told that is what it always was.

But yeah… People like being able to say stuff without accountability but unfortunately it can’t be nothing but that for a community to thrive.
