      A good, free codec for image sequences (uses AV1): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVIF

      If your client doesn’t support it, that’s… odd.

          No, this is single frame, but AVIF works like GIF.

        I think it’s one of the things where it works perfectly fine out of the box on just about every os but windows, but if you try to open it on windows it asks you to pay for a license for the codec

          Pay? That sounds really really odd for a FOSS codec. Your Windows install should prompt to install the HEIF codec package, which includes things like AV1 and HEIC.

          If that fails, you can always run the Debian installer to fix the issue.
