I’m fairly certain as she was an indoor/outdoor cat with the original owner, someone picked her up, shaved her down, saw the tattoo, and clipped off her ear to signify she was spayed, but didn’t get it fully there. It’s a very clean cut for a cat fight cut otherwise!
Maybe she noticed? She doesn’t seem to care! I can rub both ears and she’s fine with it!

I have seen cats with equally clean cuts on their ears that were definitely from fighting - although maybe not as much of the ear missing as she’s got! Clipping ears to indicate a cat is spayed sounds kinda brutal and old-fashioned, I hope no one really does that anywhere!
They sometimes still clip ears just so they aren’t grabbed again! It’s all speculation from me and former owner though, all we know is how she came home!
