Let me put it this way. I’m Lebanese. Hezb, hamas, ayatollahs and Bibi & co. can all get lost. They all benefit from one another’s existence and have no reason of being, other than war and money for/from war. My COUNTRY Lebanon is not a war capable one. The Lebanese people are relatively one of largest diasporas in the world because of the neverending unwinnable wars. Hezb does not represent the people of Lebanon nor their intentions. You want to fight the zionists or free Palestine, I’m all for it, but Lebanon shouldn’t be the battlefield. Raising my children in their home country is unfortunately a secondary thought - if even that - to those that preach for more war. And don’t ask me how then should we free Palestine, i have had my fill of this problem and have other priorities such as the life and death of my relatives and i. Go in peace.
Edit: hezb was created, is funded, and armed by iran… Just to reiterate.
True but they’re largely armed and supported by Iran. I think it’s a bit misleading to refer to them as “Lebanon” since that would usually be used to refer to the national government.
Although arguably the national government should be bombing Israel considering their territories are being invaded and annexed.
They’re not an Iranian faction, it’s a political party with an armed wing. Iran does support them. That doesn’t make them Iranian. Hezbollah is basically the government in South Lebanon.
I agree with you that it’s not Iranian but I also agree with the other commenter that statement about “Lebanon” is misleading. That’s all I’m saying. Regardless of the fact that Hazbollah may have de facto control of Southern Lebanon, it’s still inaccurate to simply refer to them as “Lebanon”.
Hegemonic media refers to zionists as “israel” all the time. And they NEVER say “american-backed” zionists/israelis. That’s far more widespread and dangerously misleading as usual.
Ok… and? That doesn’t make this statement accurate.
In my view it’s always better to specify an organization rather than a nation. When we talk about nations it often allows people to conflate the government or a faction within it with the entire populace, who may or may not support those actions.
Its better for Israel to pretend southern Lebanan is not northern lebanon, is what you mean libertylizard, so zionists can steal the land, murder all the civilians with the excuse of every literally single structure and civilian in southern Lebanon being “Hezbollah”.
There’s a repeated pattern in your comments Liberty Lizard. You reliably take the capitalists side on some vaguely moralistic ground that doesnt hold up to the same scrutiny being applied to the west. Its utterly dishonest.
Excerpted from your other comments:
And I did acknowledge that I agree Iranian morality policing should be condemned, so it’s not like I’m trying to defend them, just talk about a related issue.
I do agree that the Cuban medical system is impressive. I just wish they would not lock up so many people. Would make their system as a whole a lot more interesting if they had actual political freedoms.
Truly unhinged comment. I’m literally criticizing this statement specifically because it more easily allows Israelis to dehumanize Lebanese people by assuming they’re all identically dangerous Hezbollah soldiers, rather than a diverse group of people each with their own unique actions and ideas. So it’s actually the opposite of what you’re claiming here.
And criticizing violent police states is not taking Capitalists’ side lol. In fact, the Iranian government is capitalist, so if you unquestioningly defend them in every way, you are the one who is taking the capitalists’ side.
In the context you omitted I was attempting to point out the hypocrisy of condemning Iranian morality police while ignoring the similar policing in the West, but that’s not too convenient to your made-up narrative, is it?
Congrats, you are everything that is wrong with the online left.
Lebanon is not bombing anyone / anything. Hezbollah, an Iranian faction is, from within Lebanon.
Hezbollah is defending Lebanon from zionist terrorism, goofball.
Zionism is a white supremacist / colonial / terrorist faction. AKA they are clients of USA.
Hezbollah is Lebanese. They are not Iranian.
