The critics torched it and the internet is piling on, but I bought my own IMAX ticket and went in expecting a disaster. I came out a fan. Here's my honest, no-agenda SUPERGIRL review.
I mean that it’s a piece of media meant to occupy and entertain us to pass the time. If it’s bad or good, who cares? It (and you) achieved your goal by passing the time, so in the end it doesn’t much matter if it’s good or bad. IMO this is especially true for superhero movies (aka capeslop), so it’s especially dumb to get upset if you didn’t enjoy it. People being snobby about superhero movies is some of the stupidest shit I can imagine. But hey, I guess if that’s how people wanna spend their time I shouldn’t let it bother me.
Frankly, the movie is a fun ride, it has a few issues (which movie nowadays doesn’t?) but it nowhere near deserves the hate campaign against it.
I saw it yesterday and I really enjoyed it. Like you said, there some issues but none were big enough to ruin the movie.
I decided a few years ago to just ignore most of the online discourse around movies.
I really have a hard time hating any movie I watch these days. And I recently watched Primate. It’s just a fucking movie what are people expecting?
What do you mean with “its just a movie?”

Okay but are you talking about superhero movies, this movie in particular or the concept of movies in general?
Movies in general mostly, excluding documentaries I suppose.
Hmm, okay.
