Images load slower than other clients like Voyager. Some fail to load. Most of the failed images load when I click on the post and retry. (I added a Screen recording)
My network is not the slowest. Usually it’s between 8-30mbps.

If this is still happening, can you check something for me? When the image fails to load, open the image in the image preview screen. Then tap the three dots button (bottom right). Tap “Image info”. Can you take a screenshot of the information here and post it? Thank you!
Example post where an image is broken in the feed but shows in the preview screen.
There is something wrong with your instance, lemmy.today. i found the post you had problems with. The post uses the raw image as its thumbnail which is 8MB. 8 MB for an image is considered very large. 8MB for a thumbnail is considered extremely large. This is also likely why images appear to load very slowly for you. In comparison, on lemmy.world, the thumbnail image is just 800kb.
When you are looking at the post feed, the app needs to load several thumbnails at once. If these thumbnails are all very large it increases the likelihood of errors, either network errors or memory errors.
Thanks for the tip. :) I am testing from a different instance. Even that 500 error on the other post is gone.
I will report back if the issue persists.
These are failed thumbnails from posts linking to guardian.com.
500 errors are typically not a problem with the app but with the server.
If you have a link to the post/comment, i can doible check.

Yeah the post fails to load in the browser as well so I don’t think this one is on Summit.
