I’ve been thinking for almost two years about getting a severed hand holding a glowing gem; specifically, as told in The Silmarillion, Beren’s hand holding the Silmaril Gil-Orestel, having been bitten off by Carcharoth, the great wolf that guarded the entrance to Morgoth’s fortress Angband. later when the wolf was killed and his stomach cut open to retrieve the gem, his insides were burned and charred by the light of the Two Trees, that harmed any evil creature that touched it, but Beren’s hand remained whole, still holding the Silmaril

the issue is it’s a pretty specific custom design for my first one, and I don’t seem to be able to find artists willing to even let clients see the design before sitting in the chair to have it done. I’m willing to pay for design services separately before booking an appointment to actually do it, but that doesn’t seem to be how the industry operates
