I’m not shocked to hear that. I think it’s also like 9/11 … with the benefits of oceans between us and Eurasia, there’s always a bigger shock to “how could that happen here?” Bc the news is always elsewhere…bc we’re always elsewhere with the whole imperial shit.
The older and more mainstream I get, the more I realize how similar our countries really are. It’s just the collectivism vs individualism culturally but we’re not that different.
My best friends were 1st gen Chinese most of my childhood and in my 40s my best friend where I live is too. Dude- we’re all the same. They just shove our differences down our throats to divide us and distract us from the only real war.
