Me and my 2 other friends were planning to play fifa on my computer last night. I have 3 gamepads. One is xbox one controller. I use cachy os and I couldn’t connect my xbox gamepad. I connected it actually but the laptop was not able to understand that was a gamepad. It didn’t worked. I tried for 1 hour and my friends just laught ar me because of i use linux. And the worst part, if it was windows we would have no problem. Anyway, do you have any suggestions cause i thought cachy might not be the best option for gaming. I dont want dual boot my laptop, i hate windows

Just did a quick search and yeah apparently there aren’t really xbox controller drivers included in the kernel from what i can tell. I assumed it would just work cause it has been the case for all the controllers i tried, but i have never even owned an xbox controller so i never tested that. I figured such a popular controller surely would work ootb, but i guess not.

My XBone controller works perfectly fine with my Linux PC. No tinkering required. BT sees it and connects right away.

Could be a distro thing. I’m on Bazzite which is gaming focused so it wouldn’t surprise me if they had built in drivers for XBox controllers or something

Ah, yeah that might be it. Makes sense that a gaming distro like that would want to make sure xbox controllers work.
