          Science is not the same as colloquial speech. Literally no one uses the word that way outside of a scientific setting.

          Also I’m not using Lemmy so maybe don’t pretend to be a pedantic authority on terminology while being so confidently incorrect.

            Goalpost: moved. Meaningless anecdote: used. You were literally talking about animal behavior that is inherently a scientific endeavor, saying no animal does that behavior besides orcas and saying “humans don’t count” is just wrong. You don’t get to choose colloquialism as a convenient out. I’m not sure what you’re trying to defend here. You’re adverse to humans being called animals? I don’t know why you’d think we’re so special if that’s the case.
