I found this works for me.
Give yourself some dopamine by breaking the goals into manageable chunks.
“Today I’m going to fix that annoying bug” translates to a good feeling when you push a commit with the bug fixed.
At the same time, you’ve committed yourself a tiny bit more to the project, is now harder to ditch.
