Yep, the political culture in small towns can get really out of control.
I mean this is far more than political culture though, this is some deep rooted corruption across multiple municipalities, this is the type of stuff the FBI should be looking into, since the state level investigations entity clearly is failing to do so.
When Donald Trump was president and complained about refugees from shithole countries he was indirectly talking about rural places such as Marion county.
