What the fuck is left for us to do. I’m surrounded by low iq inbred hillbillies that eat the shit they are fed right up. Vote? I did. Against this shit. Didint work. The cops will kill you. We don’t really have any options. It’s a disaster. The pedo is on control of everything. There is no checks and balances.

so, this might be kind of a risky comment but please bear with me

i mean the problem starts within yourself, and i don’t mean that in an “you’re not doing enough” way. the problem starts because we can’t even define what a solution would look like. i believe that as soon as we have a better way of doing things, we will. the problem is just that in today’s america, there is no significant vision for a worthwhile tomorrow. and that’s the actual crisis. if you think that i’m wrong, please do explain how you imagine the future of the country in 40 years.

and i don’t mean “go back to how it was in 2000” or something. that does not work. the crisis is an economic crisis, first and foremost. there’s mass automation, already since the 1970s. more and more jobs are being removed, and if new branches of economy stagnate, then we’ll eventually run out of jobs. that naturally creates a mass unemployment phenomenon. what do you do about that?

when you’ve answered that question, we can think about all the other problems too. :-)

With prediction markets on the rise, I wouldn’t be surprised if “assassination politics” becomes our new economic system. For better or worse, an uncontrollable insurance market will internalize our growing and unaddressed externalities.

What comes next isn’t necessarily what we wished for, it’s just whatever survives capitalism attacking its weak points.

You might be doing all you can but WE as the collective aren’t doing jack shit. I see our people going to Chick-fil-A like there’s no other food available. Buying cheap tshirts from Walmart or Amazon. Thinking walking in circles in scheduled areas is a protest.

Y’all masturbate to the 2A your whole life. And when you’re finally faced with fascism you turn into the cowards the world knew you were the whole time.

Fair question. It’s easy for me to make suggestions because I’m on the other side of the world. My day to day is tough and overlaying everything I already need to do with suggestions like “move to another country” is just insensitive to the point of being offensive. That said …

Plan to move to another country. It’s possible or likely that you’re unable to, but would would need to happen for you to be able to move in, say, 10 years time. What’s the first step in that direction. It probably involves researching what skills you need to have to land jobs in other countries. There’s a bunch of professions for which companies will arrange visas for skilled employees.

Connect with your community. Be part of community groups, connect with people, know peoples names and make small talk when you bump into them. Get to know people in your street, do nice things for them, take the bins in for them. Et cetera. Fascism and other far-right nuttiness is thriving in todays world of isolated, lonely people. Strong communities are the antidote to the hatred and anger that supports fascism.

Finally, vote and help others do so. Make a plan for what you need to do on the day. Assist others with their own plans.

It’s not a fair question at all. What he’s really asking is “what can I do that makes me feel good about myself but also requires zero risk or sacrifice?”

He’s not only useless, he’s part of the US’s problem

Very American of you. Sure- spend a couple centuries beating your chests and being shitty about how you’re EXCEPTIONALLY good at handling tyrants and then cower and ask other countries’ people to step up and take care of things for you because you’re too cowardly/lazy/comfortable… yes, pretty on-brand, and what the rest of us have suspected for some time.

The fact that you think Trump is the problem and not the 30% of your citizens embodying the absolute rot at the cwnter of your culture tells me all I need to know about you
