“Any partnership with a Palestinian Arab party is now presented electorally as a concession on security and identity. Even parties in the political centre fear being portrayed as relying on those who reject the Jewish character of the state.”
The election, scheduled for 27 October, is widely seen as pivotal for Israel’s political future.
We are heading in the opposite direction of peace, WW3 is coming.
The military pressure created by the targeted assassinations has pushed Hamas to engage with the mediators and agree to a framework that apparently allows it to continue to exist, but in a different form from the way it operated until now.

[Israeli] Security officials argue that the mere existence of an explosive device capable of killing Israeli troops during a ceasefire constitutes a violation of the understandings between the sides.

They keep making it more ethical to nuke Israel
Dropping a nuclear weapon on Israel or Iran or any other country essentially locks the world into entering WW3.
What is this purpose of this statement?
I’m not saying somebody should do this but if we just annihilate that part of earth to the point it is 110% unlivable then the future would be a lot better. Obviously evacuate civilians and then provide for them first in this hypothetical but holy fuck our species would be so much better off without that cursed land.
This kind of rhetoric is unacceptable, I understand you are not saying that people should have a nuclear bomb dropped on them, but all genocide is irrevocably paired with forced, unrealistic demands of mass displacement of a people in order to better impose an external unilateral solution and even as you suggest such a scenario in jest remember you are simultaneously invoking the beginning conditions of a further horror.
There is nothing cursed about the land, what is cursed is our inability to recognize how what happens there is deeply intertwined with what happens where I live and where you live too.
If the land is cursed there than surely it is cursed beneath my feet too, and I can scarcely imagine you are far from standing on cursed earth either for these problems extend now globally, we are all more interconnected than ever.
That is why I am so passionated about this, it is to emphasize how we must see these problems as integrative and expressive of a global pattern, not as isolated anomalies that defy logic and good sense.
You missed my point. The majority of our species fully believes that little section of the planet is “holy land”, “promised land” etc. It is absolutely nothing like whatever land you or I are standing on right now.
But yes, as you pointed out, the issues stemming from that tiny patch of earth are negatively affecting practically everything and everyone on the planet…wouldn’t it be nice if all of those manipulative lies about that pathetic little area from all of these various groups across the globe either ceased to exist or became entirely irrelevant?
Once again, I’m not advocating for doing something like nuking and salting part of our shared home, but i am acknowledging that the world would be better off.
the crazies would just come up with something else
Fair point…the entire world could probably use it as a toxic material and nuclear waste dump and we’d just create the Children of Atom or some shit.
Then we should strike the infrastructure of Israel, primarily energy, hospitals, water, and other infrastructure that Israel considers valid targets by targeting in the past.
We know for a fact that won’t start ww3. It didn’t with Palestine and Israel is no better
