In my own experience on Rog Ally with No mans sky, No mans sky was mostly unplayable in Windows, but ran perfectly in Linux.
And MacOS? It has a far smaller market share, most games don’t play (no integrated proton, so your steam library will be fairly limited), and Apple still barely even supports VR (if you’re into that).
The Meta Quest units actually run Linux internally. Steam Frame will also be linux based too.
