That’s not how it works. Only a tiny fraction of the debris requires specialized handling and disposal. Doorknobs outside the containment building are absolutely not radioactive and are not treated that way. The radiation levels inside a nuclear plant are actually lower than the surrounding background radiation levels outside the plant.
