In all seriousness, I’m trying to get better at photography. I’ll make it someday.

My bf is a million times better photographer than me, but I’ve learnt a lot from seeing how he composes shots, what he looks for- angles, the lighting, quirky things too

Its good fun, even though I’m still crap

Photography as a hobby has been widely democratized, and for better or worse, anyone can get into it with the camera they most likely are already taking with them everywhere, for free.

You can always improve, just by practicing composition with the tools in your pocket! My first camera was built into a Motorola V3 RAZR, and that’s what I learned on! I only switched to an actual DSLR just fourteen short months ago, up until then I was shooting with a steadily-improving array of smartphone cameras.

Every camera is a good camera. Practice, and do your best!

I shot this in an iPhone 11 back in October. It’s hanging in my house on canvas now.

You can make almost anything with the phone you’ve already got!

          Definetly!

I know that you can do more with an actual camera, lenses, tripod etc, but lugging it around can be a pain. Both me and the bf have gotten good shots with phones (well, him more than me), and using the edit features can really “make” them pop

I love the graffiti in your photo, and the fact the alleyway is clean! If I went and took a similar photo near me they’d be all sorts of filth, including shit everywhere… now my bf likes that kind of dingy urban filth in his photos, but not me, that’s the last place I want to be at night or early morning
