I don’t like dem changes, it makes me go crazy for some years.

I researched shelf life of the plastic used and I already know the rate which my eye glasses break. So I will be rocking these for the next decade or more.

That’s it dear dull men.

They are reading glasses with standard prescription.

I buy expensive Kodak lenses that last me MANY years, and My prescription didn’t change.

They do break and I move the lense to a new frame.

Since 2015 I have been using the same frame. And changed my lense once.

However, I do take care of my lenses so it won’t scratch.

I mainly started this system because I just don’t like change, it would make me go crazy or something. I am a bit cuckoo

    Cuckoo out

Edit: cuckoo back, i have this soap dispenser that dispenses soap foamy.you fill it with 1 part liquid soap and 2 or 3 part water.

I use a tissue LIKE A BRUSH to brush away the dust, this way the dust ln the lense won’t scratch it. Then use that mild foam soap to wash the lense and then dry it by DABBING tissue on the lense.

When you failed life and you feel ashamed to spend your sugar daddies money, you find ways to make things last.

Also, back hurts, not the hole area, the lower spine part. My legs hurt too… is that too much information? Well I think it is

I let the spray of the kitchen sink knock the dust off, then dawn power-wash, spray again.

They dry spot free and you don’t get any haze

Does dabbing the tissue on the lens not leave water marks behind? What does it look like if you hold the glasses in front of a light bulb after doing that?

      Can you share?

For the life of me I have not found a way to dry my glasses that leaves them perfectly clean. Idk what it is. And they are pretty much new.

      Right now my method involves:

      • Soapy water in a spray bottle
      • a tiny glasses cloth, that lint-free type
      • mildly warm water

      And I:

      • spray from up close to push debris off
      • rinse
      • spray again, cover the whole lenses
      • spray on the cloth too
      • use cloth on glasses gently, in straight lines up and down, left and right
      • spray again, just a bit
      • rinse in warm water
      • rinse cloth too
      • use a towel to dry only the frame of the glasses
      • squeeze cloth flat in my hand to almost fully dry it then let dry

After that no matter what I have tried to dry with, left my glasses more dirty than just letting them air dry.

        It looks perfectly clean,under light.

What I do is after pouring the foamy soup on the glasses I rub it a bit with my hand then rinse it.

And dabbing with tissue never left those splotches

I think it might be because of the quality of the lense or you are using too much soap

Well I tried my own steps plus dab to dry at the end, turned out like shit lol

Then I tried rubbing more soap on, gently, rinsing, then drying with dabs again and it turned out like this 💀

Though… I did use a glasses cloth to dry, not a tissue. Guess I’ll try an actual tissue now.

          Edit

Tried it, looks like this. I guess a bunch of lint got left behind?

Also this is how they look with my rinse and let air dry, before they’re fully dry.

          So, idk.

What kind of tissue do you use to dry them? I guess there is some lint-free version I should find.

            Holly Fuck! That’s fascinating.

I do like using the premium thick tissues but they do leave a bit of lint but not that much.

Just to understand, I will repeat it and point it toward light to see, but I am sure it is not that bad, it looks new mine and my lense is ANCIENT, I am lucky with my eye sight not going bad.

            Meanwhile:

            1.Use luke warm water.

2.I use foamy light soap, if you don’t have that, then add a bit of liquid soap on your hand and rub away. I am sure you know how to rub and then rub the lense with your finger GENTLY, and rinse and let it air dry this time.

I will share a photo with your privately 🫶

              Thanks!

Yea I do use lukewarm water and I rub really gently only AFTER I spray on and rinse. I always do a contactless wash before any thouching, like you’d wash a car.

Looking forward to glasses pics lol

And yea I don’t have a foamer but I doubt it makes a difference? Idk. Automotive foam for example, is just placebo, it only looks cool.

Guess who took some sexy photos, you guesses it wrong. Not me! it was my glasses!

I think the foam is the key, so rub the liquid soap on your hand before applying.

Why i think it is the key:

                1. makes the process faster.

                2. I put extra water 3:1 with liquid handwash so the foam produced by this pump is light, and easy to rinse.

                I TOOK THREE photos

                1. After I smudged it with my oily hand

                2. After rinse

                3. After dabbing with tissue*

                • there are some scratches that’s because I used to use those microfiber stuff, but later I learned that if there is dust and stuff on your and rub it with microfiber it actually scratchers.

Also, my lense is over 7 years old, some scratches are there, but not deep and not noticeable, that why I buy expensive lenses!

The cheap one would get deep scratches that would annoy me

Anyway, send me a message on lemmy, with your Signal ID, or any privacy respecting app orrr whatsap, me no mind

Edit: The glass look waaay cleaner than yours. Like no smodges

I think you can find me using that? I’m really looking forward to seeing your glasses nude pics

I’ll try to follow your method more closely, see what comes of it. Also my lenses are cheap at like 30 euro a piece so that may be why they don’t clean up as nicely
