The base is dovetailed at the corners and the uprights are lapped in. I have to complicate everything.

    I prefer the freestanding ones that are open to the ground for drainage and microorganism migration.

      That makes sense. Im in a condo though and I have contemplated them at times. Granted atm I can’t get one but hopefully the future opens up options for me. One of the things though is im not sure what I would do with it if it worked out given at best I just have a few potted plants.

        Ours is 11 cu ft or about 82 gal and for a household of two it would take years to fill if not using any compost — we haven’t used much in our raised beds and in almost eight years, there’s still plenty of space.
