    Back around 2011 or so, me and my dad lived in one of those 40 foot long mini trailers you’d usually see on construction sites. It had a really small bathroom and shower, and the water heater only held 6 gallons…

    Well, my dad being extra frugal on the electric bill, he decided to connect the water heater power to a light switch right next to the main light switch, complete with a red light to remind us if it got left on by accident.

    Whenever it was shower/bath time, we’d go and turn the water heater on like an hour ahead of time. Only being 6 gallons, it didn’t take very long to get hot, and I mean good and hot, looking past the low capacity anyways.

    I have no idea how much he saved on his electric bill, but I’m sure it was a good bit, seeing as how the water heater stayed off most of the time.
